Awesome movie 🤘

This movie is really good. Probably the last good movie Shia LaBeouf was in before he lost his mind completely and became a wacko leftist. The effects still stand up well compared to todays films.

This movie isn’t worth 9 cents. As a transformers fan growing up, Michael Bay has officially ruined my childhood.

I watch this movie over & over. I think Shia is great in this. He makes me feel good for some reason. The humorous parts are a nice addition to the movie & I always enjoy the techie transformer segments. 🙂

Michael Bay leaves his signature explosive-filled mark and kickstarts a (terrible) franchise with loads of fun, even if a lot of unnecessary objectification, disguised racism and dumb characters drag it down. It’s mostly about the entertainment value, and that’s what separates this one from the rest of the main series. It does what works for itself, instead of spiraling off into cinematic stupidity like its successors do.

I reviewed this before but some of my opinions have changed and I've become to appreciate it more. The greatly paced and remains entertaining no matter what is happening, the score and music used is great, the action and robot fights are the best thing about this movie (My personal favorite is Optimus Prime vs Bonecrusher), the characters are tolerable and memorable but nothing too special except the acting is great and the characters feel natural including the robots. Only problem I have is there is a bit too many subplots (at least 3 different ones) but they tie them in together nicely enough to not distract you. The humor isn't bad but I wouldn't say every person would die laughing at every joke, some of the jokes are funny because of how weird they are tho. This still remains the best out of all the 5 (or 6 if u include bumblebee) films. The special effects also still hold up today really well. Tons of fun to be had here.

Thank You I-Tunes for bringing this movie from my childhood this movie was good and big when i was a kid. Very entertaining transformers film with Shia LaBeouf commanding the screen the rest of the movie was action packed and to this day a generous classic.

They picked the best Autobots for this film such as; Optimus Prime, Ironhide, Jazz, Ratchet, and Bumblebee. The plot was mediocre. I like how they brought in music by LINKIN PARK. Overall, would I recommend this to anyone? Um......No

The original, the one that started it all. This movie is great, everything in the movie was excellent, the actors were great, the story was original, & the battles were awesome!!! Overall this is one of my favorite movies and I would definitely watch it again several times. I am Optimus Prime & I approve this message.

Horrible acting! The worst script! The cartoons are so much better! Don’t waste your time or money! I got the movie free and that cost too much! The 1 star is for the special effects.

As someone who has gotten into the Transformers films, this one still stands as the best film out of the five movies in this franchise! The story is engaging, the characters are entertaining, and the action scene in this movie is great! I highly recommend watching this film if you have not seen it yet!

Transformer movies are my favorite movies ever and the first movie of a series is always the best, i like how the HD makes the movie look like you're watching it on a TV, Transformers are the best

Of course Bay has made the girl look very hot and etc. but it annoys me because girls are more than looks. Besides the 1984 tv series is sooo much better. Believe me don't watch this. Watch the television series you'll be better off. If crude humor is your thing, then go ahead be my guest. But I warned you!

This movie is great, fun, exciting, entertaining, action packed, adventure, and awesome. I love this movie so much. I love Shia Lauboulf, and Megan Fox in this movie together. Megan Fox is really pretty. I love all of the Transformers in this movie. I love all of the Transformers in this movie. All of the autobots are my favorite in this movie. Octomus Prime, and Bumble Bee are my favorite Transformers in this movie. It is one of my all time favorite movies ever.

This movie was great! It had action, adventure, humor, and great graphics. I daresay this was better than the first avengers movie.

I wasn't allowed to see this in theaters because I was too young according to my mom but when I finally saw it I was so amazed by the special effects, acting, storyline, etc. it was all amazing 9.5/10 A

By far the best and most likeable out of the four films, it's definitely got just as much substance as it does have style going for it. The action is great, the comedy does work to considerable degree, and the plot moves at a reasonable pace. Plus, I really liked how when the Decepticons' start attacking Earth, the government thinks that it's a high-tech terrorist attack and treats it like it is one. That brought a great sense of realism to the movie that almost made it seem, well, real. Definitely worth watching on a good night.

Blah blah blah explosions jib jab Michael bay... As a child of the 80s, born in 1976 so I was the target audience of the original cartoon. I'd like to take a stand against the critics. It's always the same thing. Too much cgi, too many explosions no story, bad acting... This movie is based on a cartoon about giant robots that change into other objects and fight each other, oh and they're from outer space. Every episode of the cartoon had good pitted against evil, and in every episode evil almost wins, but then the hero from the good guys prevails. If you were a young man of 8-12 years at that time, then you'll agree that it was all we needed to think it was awesome. There are so many characters and side stories that no matter what Bay did he was gonna win as long as it stirred the 10 year old in us. This movie did just that, it was every bit of over board ridiculously shiny exploding cheese that transformer needed to be. Awards are overrated and critics are self absorbed baboons.

Not as bad as the Star Trek remake, but fairly light on a realistic plot and definitely doesn’t incorporate the original charm of the original series what-so-ever. The only reason I’m giving it two stars is because the effects were done well.

This is a big, fun giant robot movie based on the 1980's heroes in disguise. If you are looking for mindless fun, this is it. And a pretty good job of updating the classic cartoon characters to a fantasy-realistic vision.

It’s just… they don’t look like anything. They’re just piles of scrap metal, and uninteresting ones at that. When they get damaged you can’t even tell the difference. I can forgive the movie for having no plot and being a bit boring between battle scenes, but in the absence of anything interesting happening the battles have to be cool looking, and these… they don’t look solid. They’re mushy piles of morphing garbage.

I think all movies should have both options. Half likes to rent and the other likes to buy. I have been checking up on Transformers to see if it's a "VIEW MOVIE." But it's still a "Rent Movie." Can you please have ALL movies be both options? No matter what, it still will be brought one way or another.

This is a great movie...I received it as a gift for Christmas, and I instantly fell in love with it! It is action-packed and also very funny. It also has a great soundtrack and score!! I just wish there was a buy option on Itunes. That is the only not-perfect part of this movie!!

Like the many fans of the Hasbro franchise, I was worried that Michael Bay -- while a good man, is a terrible director -- would ruin it as a live-action film -- or any film period.

Luckily, this film has splendid action. It pales when compared to Live Free or Die Hard, but it's still cool nonetheless.

The acting is poor. Half of the characters are formulaic cliches that only help stretch the film out to its total running time.

The special effects are very good, but it's the same thing over and over again -- robots transforming.

Megan Fox is hot.

The writing is very summer-flick-like. It's not deep and only contains enough drama to keep the story going.

Overall, worth a buy/rent.

** Michael Bay's Verizon Fios ad is hilarious. You gotta love the guy's spirit. Seriously, he's a good guy, if only he had better scripts, he'd have better films.

Itunes is awsome, and when they released movies it just blew me away. And now that they have rentals itunes is a perfect place for media. But when i thought of all these rental movie I thought they would be able to buy. Like the Simpsons movie. I would love to buy these movies and I hope that Apple will make it so you can buy these movies. But even know you can't buy this movie its still worth the rent. Itunes rocks!

I admit that when I first saw the poster for this movie I was skeptical; I thought it would be another movie like Fantastic Four. But when I saw it, I was just blown away, the effects were staggering but the action was nonstop from the very beginning. If you want to have a good time: watch this movie.

But if you hate movies that literally make no sense at one point or another, then you're going to hate this.

I've heard so many people speaking about this movie and they all seem to be saying that the story isn't great, but the special effects are awesome. Wow, what an understatement. The story is down right horrible--I mean, just really bad. I'm embarrassed to see that Steven Spielberg is associated with this flick.

I could go on and on about the forced dialogue and bad acting, but I feel weird picking on the actors for doing anything more than agreeing to be in this movie. I could not imagine even the best of actors salvaging anything good from this screenplay.

On a positive not, the visuals at times were stunning. But even acknowledging that, I half the time could not make out who were the different robot characters because they were so overdone. It was almost like someone created the first amazingly-detailed transformer and then everyone became so focused on making all the other characters even more complicated that no one had time to take into consideration whether they would work well for the story and show up well as characters in the film.

I really wanted to like this movie. As toys, Barricade, Bumble Bee and some of the more recognizable vehicles are very cool and lots of fun to play with--even if the plastic is often too cheap to last. But this movie...ugh, I really can't express enough how disappointing it is. I'd take cheap plastic toys over it any day.

I'm not an action-adventure movie buff, and held off watching "Transformers" for many months. On a whim, I rented it from iTunes and am very glad I did -- I cannot remember the last time I laughed out loud so much.

Shia LeBouf is a comedic revelation. Period. I doubted his allure before, but now understand. And Josh Duhamel. I mean, who DOESN'T enjoy watching him on screen? He could be holding a phone book for all I care, it'd still make a beautiful shot.

The Transformers look real -- a worry I had going in, as commercial spots didn't -- although, during the climactic battle, director Michael Bay has so much going on sometimes it's difficult to discern what's occurring in the frame.

The one cringe-worthy, post-9/11 moment: I can't say I understand the decision to send robots and, of all things, planes exploding through the sides of downtown LA skyscrapers. The images completely ripped me out of the fun escapism the movie was meant to encapsulate.

Other than that, a fun and hilariously entertaining movie.

Why do people like this movie? I can't comprehend it. I went to see a good Transformers movie and got a bizarre mash-up of tacky pop culture references, urine jokes, a non-existent plot, and a headache. My friend turned to me once the final and poorly realized battle scene was over and said, "Well, that was noisy." Not much of a critique, but noise was all it seemed to offer, both visual and aural.

An excellent movie, not just for the good use of the standard path-of-the-hero formula, but (as is obvious) for the good use of a classic, underappreciated popular culture franchise. This film clearly demonstrates what greatness in entertainment can be achieved by international capitalistic relationships when they're at their best.

That said, I have to add my voice to the clear call for making this movie available to BUY not just to RENT. I know that it is not entirely Apple's fault, as they must have the appropriate partnership with Paramount in order for this to happen, but it seriously must happen soon. Paramount and Apple stand to gain a lot more income on this title alone. I've bought this as a special edition DVD, but I'd buy this again for my iPhone just to have it with me everywhere (I'd watch it over and over again via that medium, as well). Sell this movie, don't just rent it out!

Loved the movie, right now is my favorite of all time. Bought the soundtrack and the score. I was waiting on this movie to come out on itunes so that I could buy, but kinda disappointed to see that you can only rent it. I would probably go buy it instead of renting it though, because your going to wanna watch it over and over. Would most definitely recommend this movie for anyone who loves action/thrilling type movies. Can't wait until 2009 for when Transformer 2 comes out. : ]

Which isn't saying much. Horrible story line. Can't really tell which robot was which. Should of developed the transformers more, esp. the bad guys. Human characters were so annoying I didnt care about them. A weak plot standing a top of many bad subplots.

This is exactly what we always get from a Michael Bay flick, un-freaking believable special effects and scene direction, coupled with poorly thought-out, incoherent plotlines and base, uninteresting characters. Think about it, could you really attach a personality to any of the main characters? They were essentially reacting to the rambling antics of the (admittedly well-done) gigantic robots, leaving little space for an honest characterization. As for the premis of the film, if you're basing a picture on an 80's television show, the chances that your flick'll be a solid artistic statement were never very high. But wait, was this film intended as an artistic statement. Well golly, what else could someone make a picture for in this day and age...hmm...based off a popular cartoon with a huge merchandising empire...I wonder...

This has got to be one of my favorite movies ever. It' sbeen a long while since a movie has come along and made me excited after leaving the theater. There was no question after watching this that I knew what I thought of this film. It far exceeded my expectations and have seen it many times. BUY IT!!! Even better buy it in HD. AWESOME.

I don't know what was better; the pure chemistry of the actors, the amazing special effects or the way it was wwritten so that it seems like it could really happen. Michael Bay does a fantastic job of intertwining our current world events, true past and another dream of the crazy to-come. And with Shia LeBuff's classic every day boy that gets run down by a cheep dad but still come's out on top (even without the porche he wants!!!) oh, and don't forget Meagan Fox she's kinda like a mini Angalina Jolie and just pulls the movie all together in my opinion she's not the supporting actress, she's THE ACTRESS. You have to see this movie I garentee you'll love it.

Great story line..... I like the fact of how they have like 4 stories in one movie.

The story of Sam and Mikaela...the story of the Autobots and Deceptacons...the story of the Soildiers....and the story of the US Government and those smart people trying to find out what's going on.

Whenever giant robots were fighting or blowing stuff up, this movie was awesome. The action scenes and special effects are second to none - honestly the best I've ever seen. Any other time in the movie, it was terrible. Ridiculous, juvenile jokes, paper-thin or ludicrous characters, and a mediocre plot prevent this movie from being an adult realization of my favorite childhood cartoon and toy marketing vehicle. Transformers could have been so much more than it was. Maybe my expectations were too high, but all I wanted was a good popcorn flick with lots of giant robot fights, and I left the theater disappointed.

The only reason to see this movie is the action scenes, and the best way to see the action scenes is in Hi Def. If you have an AppleTV, rent the HD version to be wowed by the action and effects and show off your home theater system. Otherwise, I'd say give this one a pass.

this movie was such a great movie. i was waiting for a long time to buy it for my i pod and now we can only rent. i am going to have to agree with everyone else saying let us buy transformers. let there be two choices rent or buy!!!!!!

This is one of the best movies of 2007 and of all time! Who cares if this thing is only out for "rent" right now!!! It's obviously going to come out for sale soon. Goodness, don't criticize a spectacular movie for not being for sale! It's sweet, to be put simply. The special effects and CGI are wicked! Click yes if you agree. :)
