In "Hardcore History" journalist and broadcaster Dan Carlin takes his "Martian", unorthodox way of thinking and applies it to the past. Was Alexander the Great as bad a person as Adolf Hitler? What would Apaches with modern weapons be like? Will our modern civilization ever fall like civilizations from past eras? This isn't academic history (and Carlin isn't a historian) but the podcast's unique blend of high drama, masterful narration and Twilight Zone-style twists has entertained millions of listeners.

If you love history, these shows will blow you away. Well researched (VERY well researched) well told, going deep into history to layers of it you did not know existed.

absolutely recommendable!

Dan Carlin is doing an awesome job in creating tension, telling us the historical events in a detailed but really simple way. I can follow his „red line“ beautifully, I love how well prepare he does his episodes. Sadly I lack vocabulary to express my frantic enthusiasm for this show. But everyone that is even just slightly interested in history will certainly find Mr. Carlin’s Show a wonderful entertaining and utterly educational Podcast to listen to while driving, doing chores around the house etc.
If you happen to read this Mr. Carlin: I am so thankful for the time and effort you put into these episodes. I appreciate every one of these little gems of densely packed knowledge, entertainment and the great amount of food-for-thought they contain. I made a habit of listening to one episode in the morning and then spend the rest of the day with thinking, digesting the information, cope with the empathy and terror, telling others about your show or discuss with them parts of the episode or look into further details. And then repeat the day after.
So a big, big thank you!
