Neue Funktionen von Version 5.3
Fall is in full swing at TED HQ and we've been busy sipping our Pumpkin Spice Lattes and working on improving our in-app audio experience. We introduced a new audio bar last month and are now following that up with a full-screen player!
When you are listening to a talk in the audio player just tap or drag on the audio player to show the full-screen player. The full-screen player includes all the playback controls you've come to expect and also makes it easy to add a talk to your favorites list. We'd love to hear what you think and how we can continue to improve your audio listening experience.
What else made the cut this release?
- We heard your feedback! You can now double-tap the screen while watching video to make the content fill the entire screen.
- When you use our search feature, we now put Topics at the top of the list of results.
- We made a few improvements to our Handoff and Spotlight search integration.
- We fixed a crash on launch that was affecting a few users. If you are still seeing this after updating, please email us!
- We updated to Swift 4.2. The developers were very happy about this.

Watching offline videos isn't possible. As soon as I get internet connection it's possible to watch a Video from download folder. What a logic? I downloaded videos to watch them on places without internet connection. Please have a look on this issue.

Every second update it crashes and cannot be accessed. It crashes on locked screen as well. It would be nice to mark the talks you wachted so that they dont show again in the search, when you browse for new. Option to login to the account would be nice too.

Small problems with the download and the player

The app is very useful and works fine, except some things:
- download often fails (30% of the time), so you need to restart the app; this sometimes results in restarting the download from scratch, sometimes from the point it failed at
- the progress bar of the file currently downloading "duplicates" (i.e. some file that has already been downloaded gets a progress bar that is synchronized with the progress bar of the currently downloading file)
- the seek bar of the player is not working properly (i.e. the first time you are trying to move it after you entered a video will result in a restart of the video, then it might work the way it should).

The fact that TED banned the talks of Nick Hanauer (Rich People Don’t Create Jobs) and Graham Hancock (The War on Consciousness) made me sad. I truly believe in freedom of speech and as a result of this censorship I lost my trust in this great Idea and I deleted the app.

die app bietet eine gute such funktion nach allen ted talks. leider stürzt die app ständig ab und ist im scrollen miserable. bei schlechtem empfang mag das verständlich sein aber wenn den download hat sollte is auf keinen fall abstürzen. videos abspielen sollte ein kinderspiel sein - nicht für diese app.

The TED App not only features incredible inspiring content, it is also very well designed. Especially the ability to save talks offline for later viewing is great.
The only thing missing in my opinion is a bookmark system, that would allow to mark items. Nonetheless, this is a fantastic app.
