Erste Schritte mit der Multi-Faktor-Authentifizierung
Durch die Multi-Faktor-Authentifizierung (MFA) wird eine zweite Sicherheitsebene bereitgestellt. Wenn aktiviert, werden Sie bei der Anmeldung nach dem Sie Ihr Kennwort eingegeben haben dazu aufgefordert, mithilfe einer zusätzlichen Methode nachzuweisen, dass es sich wirklich um Sie handelt. Sie können hierzu entweder die an Microsoft Authenticator gesendete Nachricht genehmigen oder das von der App generierte Einmalkennwort eingeben. Das Einmalkennwort ist 30 Sekunden lang gültig. Diese zeitliche begrenzte Gültigkeitsdauer stellt sicher, dass Sie nie dasselbe Einmalkennwort zweimal verwenden und sich die Zahl merken müssen. Für das Einmalkennwort ist keine Netzwerkverbindung erforderlich, und es belastet den Akku nicht. Sie können Ihrer App mehrere Konten hinzufügen, darunter auch Nicht-Microsoft-Konten wie Facebook, Amazon, Dropbox, Google, LinkedIn, GitHub und andere.
Erste Schritte mit der kennwortlosen Anmeldung
Verwenden Sie anstelle eines Kennworts Ihr Telefon für die Anmeldung bei Ihrem Microsoft-Konto. Geben Sie lediglich Ihren Benutzernamen ein, und genehmigen Sie dann die Benachrichtigung, die an Ihr Telefon gesendet wird. Ihr Fingerabdruck, Face ID oder eine PIN stellen bei dieser zweistufigen Verifizierung die zweite Sicherheitsebene dar. Nach der Anmeldung mithilfe der zweistufigen Authentifizierung (2FA) haben Sie Zugriff auf all Ihre Microsoft-Produkte und -Dienste, beispielsweise Outlook, OneDrive, Office usw.
Erste Schritte mit dem AutoAusfüllen von Kennwörtern
Die Microsoft Authenticator-App kann auch für das automatische Ausfüllen von Kennwörtern genutzt werden. Melden Sie sich in der Authenticator-App auf der Registerkarte "Kennwörter" mit Ihrem persönlichen Microsoft-Konto an, um die Kennwortsynchronisierung (in Microsoft Edge gespeicherte Kennwörter eingeschlossen) zu starten. Legen Sie Microsoft Authenticator als Standardanbieter für das AutoAusfüllen von Kennwörtern fest, und starten Sie das AutoAusfüllen von Kennwörtern für Apps und Websites, die Sie auf Ihrem mobilen Gerät nutzen oder besuchen. Usine à gaz qui plante!
Plus compliqué on en peut pas! Ne fait que planter ou ne fonctionne pas, cette app rend les programmes Microsoft carrément inutilisable! On a l'impression d'avoir à faire avec une app de la poste suisse ou des CFF truffée de chicanes pour décourager tout accès!

Albtraum
Ich bereue es so sehr, dieser App vertraut zu haben.
Ich hatte auf meinem alten iPhone ein iCloud Backup erstellt, um es auf dem neuen importieren zu können. Wenn ich nun im neuen inder App auf „iCloud“ klicke um es zu importieren, funktioniert es nicht. Ich komme nun in mehrere andere Accounts nicht rein nur wegen dieser App! Und eine Kontaktmöglichkeit gibt es auch nicht?!

Diese App hat grundsätzlich keine Daseinsberechtigung und es ist völlig unnötig, dass die App bei jedem Konto und jedem einzelnen Einloggversuch geöffnet werden muss. Die App sollte optional sein, denn es kann sehr nervtötend werden, wenn man den Einlogg-Code zum vierten Mal eingeben muss, weil die App wieder nicht funktioniert.... Bei einigen Accounts funktioniert Teams sogar überhaupt nicht mehr danke dieser App.

hat den code immer im falschen account angezeigt, nicht in dem, wo ich einloggen wollte. ein microsoft mitarbeiter informiert: nein, das ist kein bug. es funktioniert nur mit **einem** school oder business account. damit man seiner uni treu bleibt. gibts ja nicht.

Es ist ein übersteigertes Sicherheitsdenken, nützt nichts und vergrault die ehrlichen Nutzer, dass der Kontrollmechanismus täglich mehrfach während laufendem Arbeitsprozess durchgeführt werden muss. Zudem sind die Timeouts viel zu kurz.

Ich versuche seit Monate in meinem Schul Teams ren zu kommen. Die app sagt man soll die app öffnen? Der „Code“ wonach mein Laptop fragt wird nicht in der App angezeigt. Wenn ich drauf drücke „App kann ich im moment nicht nutzen“ komme ich zurück zur Spalte wo ich den Code eingeben muss der ich nirgends bekomme. Wird wohl nie enden. Alle meine Daten sind verlohren.

On me demande de me connecter quand j’ouvre l’app Outlook sur mon iPhone, jusque-là d’accord.
Ensuite ça m’ouvre authenticator et me demande mon mot de passe que je rentre, d’accord.
Et là, merci les ingénieurs de microsofts, ils me demandent d’ouvrir authenticator et de rentrer le code de vérification affiché dans l’app… mais je suis dans l’app !!!!
Et impossible d’obtenir ce fichu code…
Donc grâce à votre ingénierie de pointe cyclique et mal pensée, eh bien je n’ai plus accès à mes e-mails ni mon calendrier professionnel jusqu’à nouvel ordre !
Donc merci de corriger ce cycle de vérification depuis un appareil mobile parce-que ça ne va pas du tout !

If just have recently bought a new iPhone and tried to transfer my credentials. The process on Microsoft’s side is very complicated and cumbersome for Microsoft Accounts. For business accounts you need to contact the admin, etc.

Problematisch bei App-Wiederherstellung auf neuem Iphone
Nach IPhone Wechsel funktionerte die Autenticator App nicht mehr richtig. Bei vielen Konten kam die Meldung: „Aktion erforderlich - Scannen Sie den von Ihrer Organisation bereitgestellten QR-Code, um die Wiederherstellung dieses Kontos abzuschliessen.“ Für Instagram, Facebook etc. funktioniert das, für Konten einer Universität oder Fachhochschule fand ich keinen Wiederherstellungs-QR Code. Ich musste die App wieder löschen und jedes einzelne Autenticator-Konto manuell wiederherstellen.
Äusserst aufwendig. Schade.
Wenn man das Phone nicht wechselt, funktioniert die App aber.

Whenever you try to sign-in it tells you to check your Authenticator App and type in the code WHILE IT DISPLAYS THE CODE IN THE AUTHENTICATOR APP. You cannot open it if its already opened and you cannot paste it anywhere as there is no window to paste it in??

horrible user experience. Do yourself the favour, if you can, just use google authenticator. Never had a problem with it.

Do not use for business - tries to force personal details
For business use it’s an ok-ish product, if it wasn’t for one thing: ANY means to back up the secrets retained in the app demands the setup of a personal Microsoft account. Translated this means that in order to have robust resilience for this authentication an employer would have to force staff to set up personal accounts with Microsoft, with all the associated privacy risks and potential GDPR breaches.
It’s a bit of a shame as it’s a reasonable if mildly mediocre product, but this brute forcing of personal MS accounts to make it useful for business is simply unacceptable.
Avoid if you can. Not that Microsoft will make that easy, but you have been warned.

Great tool and the one to use with Microsoft accounts (MSA and AAD). Convenient that it also supports TOTP for other accounts. I do regret that one cannot change the icon on accounts and the password manager is minimalist: I use Enpass instead.

Wird immer komplizierter
Mit jedem Update wird die Anmeldung komplizierter. Was früher bequem mit der Apple Watch ging, braucht heute 5-7 Eingaben am iPhone selbst. Das mag vielleicht totalitär sicher zu sein, es gilt aber den Benutzer nicht mehr ab, welcher sich somit anderen Authenticator Apps zuwendet, die eleganter zu bedienen sind. Der Login-Zwang in MS 360 für ein „Backup“ tut sein übriges.

Transfer to new phone is not seamless
App is okay. I like the option that some sites use where you have to enter a number in the app to confirm, rather than just click “yes it’s me”. However when I tried to transfer to my new phone, only 2 of the six accounts I have in there transferred properly with the backup / restore method. I will have to get QR codes for the other 4, and carry both devices in the meantime, which is a pain.
