Great espresso!
Would even be better if one could listen this via audio

Love the content but ios sharing quote to whatsapp is broken since 1+ year
Love the content, and app mostly works.. but...
Since 1+ year, on ios version, you cannot correctly share the quote to whatsapp. Sharing to text message works, but sharing to whatsapp sends app link and not the quote. So sad this trivial defect isnt fixible even after i raised defects.. its like a 5 min fix..

Annoying ads, even for subscribers
Even although I pay hundreds per year for a subscription to The Economist per year, this app is still full of obtrusive ads. The news overview is also quite random and not what I would expect from The Economist.

IMCOMPETENT APP
APP is failing to connect, so I have a yearly subscription I can only use on desktop, and even there, they log me out every day. EVERY SINGLE DAY.
After 24 years of reading, I will stop paying the ECONOMIST. They must have developed the app in low level countries. So you lost a paying customer.

Great usability - better would be...
I’ve always liked the design and usability of the espresso app - was sad when the main app switched to something different which felt clunkier.
Better would be when an article has links to economist content that it either opens to main app to show it or auto logs in to the web without needing me to authenticate again.

Concisely well informed in the day
Really like this formate. It let’s you read the most important news in a very concise manner. And also let’s you read a selection of news you wouldn’t find in the major news media. Very competent and even humorous word-plays don’t come too short. Love it!

Great content, long load times
Love the content and focus on events that mainstream media misses but are nonetheless very significant. For that I would give a 5 star rating
The content delivery is by far the worst. It takes me 5 tries to get the content to load in Switzerland. The waiting messages like caliberating news antenna is funny and witty but guys really in this day and age? Why the latency?
Also, if the days edition is not out then at least show the last days one.
If you need some good developers who know how to do a good app, get some.
Don’t let delivery quality destroy all the good content you have to share!

Great layout and function
I love the layout of the app. Getting the world in 7-8 brief 'slides' with stock indices and a lovely quote included each time.
Even if you don't enjoy the content, The Economist has done a great job designing the application.

Das "Espresso" trägt seinen Namen zu Recht - "gut im Geschmack, unkompliziert im Konsum".
Täglich präzise und relevante Information, die man dann am Ende der Woche manchmal in der Magazin-Ausgabe vertiefen kann. Und ganz besonders originell ist die kulturelle Samstagsausgabe, die breite Information zu besonderen Events gibt, die man kaum woanders finden könnte.
Eine tägliche Freude nach dem Aufwachen - "mit Interesse zu konsumieren".
