The EGK JakartaM-LRT app is a state-of-the-art mobile application designed to revolutionize urban mobility in Jakarta by integrating the Jakarta MRT and LRT systems, featuring a total of 31 stations across two lines. Developed by EGK Microelectronic Solutions Group Sdn. Bhd. and its CSR arm, the EGK CSR-IsaacKhor Foundation, this app aligns with the operational schedules of the MRT (5:00 AM to 12:00 AM) and LRT (5:30 AM to 11:30 PM), with train frequencies ranging from 5 to 10 minutes. Whether you're a daily commuter navigating Jakarta's bustling streets or a visitor exploring its landmarks, this app is your essential travel tool.
Key Features:
Interactive Dual-Line Map: The app showcases a vertical map with two parallel lines—MRT (red) and LRT (green)—representing 13 and 18 stations, respectively. Users can zoom, pan, and explore stations like Lebak Bulus Grab, Velodrome, and Bundaran HI. Transfer points (e.g., Blok M, Dukuh Atas) are highlighted for seamless line changes.
Route Planning: Effortlessly plan your journey by selecting "From" and "To" stations from a searchable list. The app uses a Breadth-First Search algorithm to calculate the shortest route, including inter-line transfers, with a yellow highlighted path on the map. Fares are estimated at 5,000 IDR base plus 300 IDR per station.
Nearby Stations: Leverage your device's location services to find stations within a 5-kilometer radius, updated in real-time as you move, ideal for spontaneous travel decisions.
Operational Insights: Stay informed with on-screen details of MRT and LRT operating hours and frequencies, ensuring timely travel planning.
User-Friendly Design: Built with SwiftUI, the app offers a responsive interface with a scrollable layout, including a map view, route planner, and details section, plus a full-screen map option for detailed navigation.
How It Works:
Launch the App: Open EGK JakartaM-LRT to view the dual-line map and planner tools.
Search Stations: Input your starting and destination stations using text fields, with a dropdown filtering options as you type.
Find Route: Tap "Find Route" to generate your travel path, displayed on the map with station lists and fare estimates.
Explore Nearby: Enable location services to locate nearby stations for on-the-go convenience.
Adjust View: Double-tap the map to toggle full-screen mode, with pinch-to-zoom and drag-to-pan gestures.
Technical Highlights:
The app is crafted using SwiftUI and CoreLocation, ensuring a smooth experience on iOS devices. Station data, including approximate coordinates, is sourced from Jakarta MRT and LRT route plans as of September 2025. The vertical layout features MRT at x=600 and LRT at x=800, with y-values incrementing by 120 units. The fare model reflects Jakarta's pricing structure, subject to official updates.
Future Enhancements:
As Jakarta's rail network expands, EGK JakartaM-LRT will incorporate additional lines and stations. Planned features include real-time schedules, multi-modal integration (e.g., buses), and offline mode. User feedback will guide these updates to keep the app relevant.
