AnkiMobile is a mobile companion to Anki, a powerful, intelligent flashcard program that is free, multi-platform, and open-source. Sales of this app support the development of both the computer and mobile version, which is why the app is priced as a computer application.
AnkiMobile was written by the lead developer of Anki and AnkiWeb, and it has been around since 2010. Beware other apps using "Anki" in their name that have sprung up recently - they are not compatible with the rest of the Anki ecosystem, and they offer far fewer features.
Some of AnkiMobile's features include:
- A free cloud synchronization service that lets you keep your card content synchronized across multiple mobile and computer devices. This makes it easy to add content on a computer and then study it on your mobile, easily keep your study progress current between an iPhone and iPad, and so on.
- The same proven scheduling algorithm that the computer version of Anki uses, which reminds you of material as you're about to forget it.
- A flexible interface designed for smooth and efficient study. You can set up AnkiMobile to perform different actions when you tap or swipe on various parts of the screen, and control which actions appear on the tool buttons.
- Comprehensive graphs and statistics about your studies.
- Support for large card decks - even 100,000+ cards.
- If your cards use images or audio clips, the media is stored on your device, so you can study without an internet connection.
- A powerful search facility that allows you to find cards that match criteria such as 'tagged high priority, answered in the last ten days and not containing the following words', and automatically place them into a deck to study.
- Support for displaying mathematical equations with MathJax, and rendering LaTeX created with the computer version.
- Support for adding images drawn with the Apple Pencil to your cards.
Please note that AnkiMobile is currently intended as a companion to the computer version of Anki, rather than a complete replacement for it. While AnkiMobile is able to display and schedule your cards in the same way the computer version does, certain changes like modifying note types need to be done with the computer software. Add-ons are not supported, so while you can study image occlusion cards created with the computer version, they can not be created within AnkiMobile. For this reason, please start with the computer version of Anki before you think about buying this app.
The cloud synchronization service is optional, and data can also be imported/exported from the app via a USB cable or AirDrop.
Like all apps, AnkiMobile can be purchased once and then used on multiple devices in a household using the same Apple ID. Family sharing is also supported (apart from in India). For information on bulk discounts for educational institutions, please see Apple's Volume Purchase Program.

I love how it made me learn plenty other skills to create enhanced content (you can work magic with CCS and JavaScript) that I can use in other situations as well. Es wäre sehr nützlich wenn man einzelne Stapel exportieren und teilen könnte (per AirDrop). Auf der iPad/iPhone Version nicht möglich.
Man muss immer den ganzen Stapel exportieren,
dann beim neuen Konto einfügen, die Sachen rauschlöschen,
die nicht passen und schauen das man die eigenen Sachen nicht überspielt. Zumteil stimmt dann auch die Reihenfolge der Karten nicht mehr.
Bei der Webversion lässt sich die zu exportierende Reihenfolge prima einstellen. Warum nicht auch gleich beim iPad/iPhone?
Sprich, die Webversion ist gratis und kann viel mehr, warum 25chf zahlen und dazu noch weniger Funktionen?
Zum Repetieren im Zug etc. ist die App aber geeignet.

Man müsste Fotos in höherer qualität uploaden können. Denn ACHTUNG: Fotos die übers Handy importiert werden verlieren erstaunlich viel Qualität im vergleich zu Mac / PC.
Es sollte eine Stiftfunktion haben, wo man ins Bild reinmalen kann, für Notizen und Ergänzungen. Zudem sollten auf der Mac version HEIC photos unterstützt werden.
Für alle Wissenschaftstudenten wäre auch eine Formeleingabe äusserst hilfreich!

if i spend the time to make cards I’ll do it in the real anki app that uses the correct spaced repetition algorithm to learn them. If i have forgotten a 6 months old card, i don’t start from zero if i tap repeat in 10 mins!

Together with the Computer (free) version on Mac, Windows, Linux this app is just perfect to study whatever you like.
It does take some time to learn how things work but on youtube there are plenty of tutorials. My way: keep it simple but straight to the point and only use bare minimum of tools/functions available on Anki. I also suggest to use the Pc-version to add cards and only do the reviews on the phone.
My hope: create a simplified version for all the people who don’t need those gimmicks that come with the standard version so more people can enjoy it.

It might not mean much to average users, but some of us would like to handle our own data (and make use of our idle servers.) Allowing the use of idle servers can also relieve the financial pressure on the devs, making the development more sustainable.

Really useful to study and never had any problems regarding uploading the decks. However, it is not really practical to have to wait for the card to appear while learning when you want to chance something. Tried to change it while searching through the deck, but was not possible. Please change that!

I downloaded this app thinking that I could download all my decks from Anki web but it subsequently deleted all my decks - of which there are many. When I look on Anki web now, there is nothing but a default deck and when I look in the Anki App in preferences and check media, it says there are 20,000 files present, but not used any notes.
I am absolutely gutted as I invested hours and hour is into this application. Unless this can be resolved I will be asking for a full refund.

La “prise en main” est un peu compliquée. Une fois la création de fiches comprises, cette appli est parfaite dans le cadre de l’apprentissage d’une langue par exemple. Le fait de pouvoir joindre un fichier audio et une image est très utile pour la prononciation et la mémorisation.

In Kombination mit dem Computer macht Anki einfach alles. Dazu gehört auch das Handbuch (online), was auf alles eine Antwort hat.
Die iOS App finanziert die gratis Windows, Mac und Linux Versionen, sowie die gratis Server zum Synchronisieren. Bitte unterstütze dieses tolle Projekt!

Great management of the revisions of the cards to make sure it goes in long term memory.
User friendly. Easy to use and to modify cards during the study in case typing errors are spotted.
Can be used off-line. Web-based back-up.

In Kombination mit der (gratis) Version für den Computer ein wirklich starkes Programm. Die Karteikarten können einfach und problemlos (seit über einem ohne irgendwelche Fehler) synchronisiert werden. Die Funktionen der PC Version sind äusserst umfangreich und nützlich, benötigen aber ein wenig Zeit zum einarbeiten. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt!

Anfangs war ich ziemlich begeistert. Bei mir funktioniert die Synchronisation aber nur mässig und mit viel Aufwand, wie ich mit der Zeit gemerkt habe.
Was mich fast noch mehr stört: Seit mehr als einem Jahr überhaupt kein Update mehr. Da bin ich zu diesem Preis doch sehr enttäuscht.
Zusammen mit Computer-Version unschlagbar!

Nach langer Suche habe ich mit Anki endlich das perfekte Lernprogramm gefunden. Die Stärken der App können aber erst zusammen mit den Desktopversionen (PC/Mac/Linux) voll ausgespielt werden. Achtung: Wegen den vielen Funktionen (bei dem Programm für den Computer) ist etwas Einarbeitungszeit nötig!

Seit über einem Jahr war ich auf der Suche nach einem Flashcard-Programm mit der Möglichkeit mehrere Seiten pro Frage sowie Bilder anzuzeigen - endlich hab' ich eines gefunden :-) Anki bietet zudem eine Unmenge weiterer Funktionen, die ich bisher in keinem anderen Flashcard-Programm gesehen habe.

I love Anki for the PC, but I was rather disappointed with the iPhone App since for the rather high price, I was expecting to be able to create new decks, or at least new cards within an existing deck. This however is not possible. Anki Mobile's functionality is limited to syncing and reviewing, which I believe is not much considering the amount you are expected to pay.

Anki is a flashcard application. Using cards for Text in all languages, pictures, text, sounds and LateX (Math-Formulas). It has a high cost, but it is worth it if you think about anki as free for now over 1'000 of hours work put in. Not only that it synches over the web with your desktop your cards it also syncs your progress.
I am myself using it at the university and it is extremely helping me improving my grades ;-)
