HINWEIS: Die Benutzeroberfläche dieser App ist derzeit nur auf Englisch verfügbar. Um ein kostenloses Chinesisch-Deutsch Wörterbuch zu installieren, gehen Sie bitte wie folgt vor: Öffnen Sie Pleco, tippen Sie auf das Menü oben links und wählen Sie "Add-ons" > "Dictionaries" > "All Free" und tippen Sie auf den Button, um "HanDeDict" herunterzuladen. Wenn der Download abgeschlossen ist, gehen Sie zu "Settings" > "Manage Dictionaries" > "Reorder" und ziehen Sie HanDeDict nach ganz oben, um es zum Standard-Wörterbuch zu machen.
Pleco ist der ultimative Chinesisch-Begleiter: Die App ist Wörterbuch, Dokumentenleser und Lernkarten-System in einem. Sie unterstützt die Zeicheneingabe von Hand und erkennt auch eingescannte Zeichen. Hauptfunktionen: ($ = kostenpflichtiges Add-on)
• Großartige Wörterbücher. Wir liefern zwei praktische Wörterbücher kostenlos: einerseits das beliebte Open-Source-Wörterbuch CC-CEDICT mit über 110.000 Einträgen, die konstant aktualisiert werden, andererseits unser eigenes PLC-Wörterbuch mit über 125.000 detaillierten Einträgen und über 25.000 Beispielsätzen (mit Pinyin). Über zwei Dutzend weitere Wörterbücher sind als kostenlose und kostenpflichtige ($) Add-ons erhältlich.
• Leistungsfähige Suche: Die Suche ermöglicht das Nachschlagen von Wörtern in chinesischen Schriftzeichen, Pinyin oder Englisch und unterstützt Platzhalter- und Volltext-Suche. Der gesuchte Begriff wird automatisch in sämtlichen Wörterbüchern nachgeschlagen und die Ergebnisse werden in einer nach Häufigkeit sortierten Liste präsentiert.
• Links und Querverweise: Schlagen Sie die Bestandteile von Schriftzeichen nach, teilen Sie Wörter in einzelne Zeichen auf, schlagen Sie nach, in welchen Wörtern ein gesuchtes Zeichen noch verwendet wird und durchsuchen Sie sämtliche Wörterbücher nach Beispielsätzen.
• Festland/Hongkong/Taiwan: Pleco unterstützt sowohl traditionelle wie auch vereinfachte Zeichen, Stichwörter können in Zhuyin und Pinyin angezeigt werden. Und wir unterstützen sogar Kantonesisch.
• Audio: Kostenlos und integriert via das Spracherkennungssystem von iOS 7. Wir bieten auch andere Add-ons ($) mit Aufzeichnungen von muttersprachlichen Mandarin- und Kantonesisch-Sprechern, sowie ein noch besseres Spracherkennungs-Add-on für Mandarin.
• Dokumentenleser: Zeigen Sie Text aus der Zwischenablage an und tippen Sie auf die Wörter, um sie sofort nachzuschlagen. Mit einem Upgrade ($) wird das Nachschlagen auch in Text-, DOC-, DOCX-, RTF-, PDF- und EPUB-Dateien sowie in Song- und Podcast-Texten unterstützt.
• Zeichenerkennung: Schlagen Sie Wörter nach, indem Sie die Kamera Ihres Geräts einfach darauf richten, oder indem Sie die Wörter in einem Bild antippen. ($)
• Manuelle Eingabe (Vollbildschirm): Verwenden Sie den gesamten Bildschirm Ihres Geräts statt nur einen kleinen Teil davon. Die Erkennung ist äußerst präzise und toleriert die falsche Strichreihenfolge bei der Eingabe. ($)
• Lernkarten: Erstellen Sie mit nur einem Knopfdruck aus einem beliebigen Eintrag eine Karte. Importieren Sie vorgefertigte Wörterlisten, verwenden Sie bewährte Lerntechniken (z.B. Lernkarteien) und lernen Sie in verschiedenen Modi wie z.B. durch das Ergänzen von Lückentexten oder mithilfe von Ausspracheübungen. ($)
• Diagramme zur Strichreihenfolge: Animationen zeigen Ihnen, wie jedes Zeichen geschrieben wird. Es werden über 20.000 Zeichen abgedeckt. ($)

If you're serious about learning Chinese, you need Pleco dictionary.
Also, Pleco built-in flashcards are awesome for reviewing words (even better than Anki!)

excellent dictionary - really helpful for studying Chinese
I study Chinese in an evening class. This dictionary has so much to offer - from flash cards to history lookup to character writing practice. It includes almost anything you could need when studying Chinese with a course book. It's worth any money spent on it.

Great Language App
Mandarin is my 4th language and I wish there was a Pleco equivalent for every language. As a package it is one of the truly great language resources. It is worth every penny.

Studying Chinese in China, I am using Pleco on a daily basis and highly recommend it to any learner of Chinese language. A vast choice of dictionaries ranging from everyday language to ancient Chinese with lots of example sentences. Additional features like OCR reader and flashcard system add to the great value. Support deserves special mentioning here - quick, efficient and committed. Can't find anything that I'm missing in this app.

Living in China? Get it. Easy to use, even if many words don't match. Once you get the hang of it, it is extremely powerful. Character input in pinyin, pinyin with tones, radical, drawing, English. Character details with definition, (extras) stroke count, components, words and example sentences.
Excellent! Number one. Use another translation app for sentences and re-route back to Pleco for in-depth analysis or just quick reference.

Absolutely stunning!
This app actually was the reason why I bought an iPhone in the first place - and I don't regret it a single second. There's simply nothing better than this app for anybody who's learning Chinese! Multiple dictionaries, fullscreen-handwriting, flashcards, EVERYTHING you could possibly think of! Thank you so much for this great app!

Only one tiny annoyance: OCR from a photo just taken; when you discard the photo, you ALWAYS get asked if you are sure that you don’t want to store it. Adding a setting, which allows for the disabling of such dialogs would do the trick.

I love this app, and also want to mention the enthusiastic developers who were keen to answer questions. Spent about a 100 dollars on it so far and it is worth every cent.
I use the app every single day - for about a year now.
it simply converts idle time on the bus, train to valuable learning time. Even when walking, I can use the flashcards! Amazing.
A note: ideally you combine ths app with live classes. I do classes over skype and then pleco - I could not be happier with this setup.

best app I own - hands down
I use this app constantly in China. It is a good addition to my chinese lessons and I learn my vocabulary with it every day. Worth the buy if you want to learn chinese, no matter if you want to learn only 'survival chinese' or plan to study it fully, it will be a great tool for either. Char recognizer is a bit hard to get used to, but the tool to write characters on the screen yourself and have them translated works a treat. (And no, I dont know these guys and dont own shares. This app is simply great)
