Needs to much Time

It’s ok for some time but honestly the time required to showcase your fotos and promote them is just to much. Also limited possibly to actually connect with others.
Will delete my account after 2 weeks and thousands of clicks.
The work shown varies heavily.

Auf einmal konnte ich mich nicht mehr einloggen, alles verloren was ich darauf geladen habe.
They deactivated my account because copyright infringment?! Is that a Joke? Sorry but you‘re not serious, bevor you cancel all my fotos and account inform me first.

Don’t recommend

Unfortunately, the way the whole thing works encourages you to vote blindly in order to increase your own photos’ exposure (unless you’re willing to pay for boosts), rather than promoting an actual sharing and appreciation of the pictures on display. Sure, you can quickly get to a high level status, but what’s the point really? Too bad, because some of the work that’s being shared is really good.

Time Consuming

Don’t get me wrong - some first class photographs are to be seen! However if you want to keep your time on the mobile down and be social instead, avoid - you become a left and right hand mass swiping rater of photographs just to get fuel in your tank to promote your own photographs.

Not best shots wins

The entire concept is based how much you vote for pictures of other photographers. The more “likes” you give, the more you get back regardless of the quality of your image.
I’ve made the experiment; uploaded a picture which got many likes (1000+) on Instagram, 500px and other platforms . It matched perfectly with the topic on GuruShots. By purpose I was very stingy with the votes to see what happens. The image got barely 100 votes.
Uploaded a “regular” image and give a lot of positive votes while valuing the pictures of other photographers. Suddenly, your uploaded image will get a lot of votes in return, which is IMHO strange.
Proposed solution: you should get a positive exposure count no matter if you like or dislike an image. If you only take positive votes into account then it’s likely that too many pictures are voted positively to increase your own exposure regardless the quality.
I cannot use this app to get some new inspiration for future shots, which is very sad.
GuruShots is a great concept! Unfortunately, it doesn’t give me the value expected due to the mentioned issue.

Ridiculous

Absolutely a joke. Photos seem to be chosen randomely to fill the content to vote on. Guru-picks are hilarious. Copyright violations, off-topic pictures and just very poor pictures get chosen. If you love photography and quality, stay away from this hoax.
