Holy Potatoes! A Weapon Shop?! ist inspiriert von Spielen wie Game Dev Story, Weapon Shop De Omasse und Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale und wurde designet, um Fans dieses aufsteigenden Genres eine aufregende neue Gameplay Erfahrung zu bereiten.
Der Soundtrack wurde von dem legendären Kimura Masahiko komponiert, der schon an den originalen Soundracks der Genso Suikoden Reihe und der Castlevania Reihe gearbeitet hat.
