Having come across the 'Collective on WireTapper or other experimental music sources I was reluctant to buy an album - Why ? Because they were interesting challenging but difficult to listen to.

With Merriweather this has all changed ..Somebody gave them the keys to the beach boys Dune Bug and filled them with Mescal and said .. GO - they veer wildly across the straight and narrow road that is mainstream pop but they are having fun .. and that fun is infectious. Go on ... buy it .. and I dare you not to smile when the whooping on the second half of "my Girls" kicks in ...
